Two brothers told their own stories about their bond to the land and their desire to remain on the 100 acre farm while in harmony and brotherhood with their Israeli neighbors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"606\" height=\"466\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1994.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1994.jpg 606w, https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1994-300x231.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 606px) 100vw, 606px\" \/><figcaption>Daher Nassar giving a farm tour, here by a carob tree<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Daher, the older brother, bubbled with joy to show us the farm and the caves the family lived in when the family began farming olives, grapes, carob, and figs. He led us in songs of faith, hope and fellowship in the cave and gushed with hospitality for all including the adjacent Israeli settlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"612\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1997.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1997.jpg 612w, https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1997-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><figcaption>Our group in the family cave.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"588\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1998.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1998.jpg 588w, https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_1998-300x245.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Daoud, the younger brother talked about the challenges associated with trying to prove family ownership of the farm with voluminous legal records and witnesses.\u00a0 It was frustrating to hear the litany of how the Israeli government and lower court system seemed to be focused on gaining control of the land for Israeli purposes instead of justice.\u00a0 Daoud stressed the need to be proactive in finding solutions while avoiding the trap of victimhood and hate.\u00a0 He was inspiring in his efforts to make the land a healing place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His message for us was to take action via &#8211; <strong>come and see, then go and tell<\/strong>. He witnessed that we can make a difference as all people understand justice and we all must have faith, love and hope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"546\" height=\"441\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_2005.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_2005.jpg 546w, https:\/\/www.livingstonespilgrimage.org\/lsp-archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_2005-300x242.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 546px) 100vw, 546px\" \/><figcaption>Helping with the olive harvest<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We ended our visit by harvesting olives from several trees\nwhile looking down at the Israeli settlements and hearing Palestinian children\nfrom the village but at a distance laughing and watching us hand pick olives.
